FAVHR is an independent non-profit corporation (NPC) established in 1988 and affiliated with South Texas Veterans Healthcare Systems (STVCHS) VA Medical Center in San Antonio.  FAVHR strives to make the research process easier for its investigators by providing a variety of services.

Based in Silicon Valley and San Antonio, InCube Labs is a life sciences research lab focused on developing medical breakthroughs that dramatically improve patient outcomes. InCube is led by Mir Imran, an accomplished medical innovator, entrepreneur and venture capitalist, who has founded more than 20 life sciences companies and holds more than 200 patents. The mission of the Mind Science Foundation is to explore the vast potential of the human mind in a scientific manner, for the betterment of humankind. Current areas of focus include supporting the search for an answer to one of the major questions of modern science - the puzzle of human consciousness. The foundation does this by funding leading-edge research and educational programs focused on the mind, brain and human consciousness, all with the goal of improving the human condition.

The San Antonio Medical Foundation was established in 1947 with a primary purpose of obtaining a medical school for South Texas.  Today, San Antonio Medical Foundation Trustees evaluate all requests, research the need and land required, and arrange leases to benefit the facility and the future development of the Medical Center.  Priority is given to institutions providing research, education and selected medically-related services.
