Located in the South Texas Medical Center. We promote health through research.

South Texas only academic cancer center designated by the National Cancer Institute and an international resource for the development of novel approaches for treating cancer.

Based in Silicon Valley and San Antonio, InCube Labs is a life sciences research lab focused on developing medical breakthroughs that dramatically improve patient outcomes. InCube is led by Mir Imran, an accomplished medical innovator, entrepreneur and venture capitalist, who has founded more than 20 life sciences companies and holds more than 200 patents. Many of Imran’s innovations have resulted in new standards of care, including the first FDA-approved Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator.

The mission of START is to accelerate the development of new anticancer drugs with the purpose of improving quality of life and survival for patients with cancer.  START consists of a team of highly trained physicians and staff with extensive experience in Phase I clinical trials research.

Southwest Research Institute is an independent, nonprofit, applied research and development organization benefiting government, industry and the public through innovative science and technology since 1947.

TASC provides systems engineering, integration and analytical decision-support services. The National Trauma Institute is a non-profit organization that assembles funds from public and private sources to support and prioritize trauma research and fosters civilian and military collaboration in trauma care and research.

The San Antonio Medical Foundation was established in 1947 with a primary purpose of obtaining a medical school for South Texas.  Today, San Antonio Medical Foundation Trustees evaluate all requests, research the need and land required, and arrange leases to benefit the facility and the future development of the Medical Center.  Priority is given to institutions providing research, education and selected medically-related services.
