ENTrigue Surgical unveiling new ear, nose and throat products
September 23, 2010

San Antonio Business Journal

ENTrigue Surgical Inc. will introduce a new medical product at the upcoming American Academy of Otolaryngology Annual Symposium and Exhibition.

The San Antonio company’s new Synaero Hemostatic Gel can be used to control mucosal bleeding related to sinus surgery. The gel was developed jointly with HemCon Medical Technologies Inc. in Portland, Ore. The symposium takes place Sept. 26-29 in Boston. Ear, nose and throat surgeons from all over the world attend this annual conference.

ENTrigue designs, develops, manufactures and distributes medical devices used in ear, nose and throat surgical procedures. The company’s new Ventera Sinus Dilation System has also been placed in clinical use. The system relies on a single-use balloon that is delivered by one of several reusable instruments. The device utilizes ENTrigue’s proprietary SerpENT articulating technology.

Ventera is currently being used by Dr. Amin Javer, a rhinologist and director of St. Paul’s Sinus Center in Vancouver. ENTrigue is in an early-launch phase with the Ventera systems in Canada. The company plans to launch the systems in various European markets over the next few months.

In related news, ENTrigue added John T. Treace to the company’s board of directors.
